This is a different bread. It’s soft and moist, like homemade white bread. Even though it’s made with eight grains, it’s lighter and whiter than expected. It’s an extraordinary bread.
But it’s a puzzlement. It is not a bestseller. It should be–53 reviews in 18 months and everyone is a “5” star. Read the reviews. People love it, but the crowd hasn’t discovered it yet.
This was intended to be a winter bread, hence the eight grains, but it works just fine in warmer weather. It’s a straightforward bread. It reminds me of the bread Merri Ann made in Alaska when we lived there but her bread was more brown; she ground her own wheat.
But I’m going to send you to Kamie in the Kitchen’s Happy Sandwiches–not because you need potato chips on your sandwiches, but because she’s a creative, happy spirit. She’ll inspire you.Â
This bread makes sandwiches better. And it’s a great companion to soups. Look what this customer says:
“Not only is this great with most any soup, I haven’t found a sandwich that isn’t better with this bread!” Skip W.

“This is my favorite of all the mixes. When it’s still warm, we break out the butter, and suddenly, it’s half gone!”–Charlie O
“Love this bread with soup! I make a lot of soup and do love this bread with a bowl of soup. It makes a hearty – kind of chewy -loaf (I use a bread machine). Freeze’s well too.”–SusanÂ
“This bread is delicious. It has a nice texture and is great just sliced with butter or jam. My kids love it. Prepared Pantry makes the best bread mixes. Every one we’ve tried has been good. Highly recommend!”–Jane B
“I really loved this bread. It had a mild, slightly sweet, taste. Like the description says, it is “almost a white bread “. Yet the grains add just the slightest extra moisture and texture. The crust had an especially nice texture. I don’t normally like bread crusts, often throwing away that part. But this one was delicious – crispy, but not tough or hard, and flavorful. “–Karen KÂ
