Diego’s Jalapeno Cheese Bread Mix
I love this bread! It’s just hot enough for a gringo like me. But then, I’m a medium salsa guy. Â
Some folks add more salsa. That’s okay.Â
Customer Questions
- Is this bread really hot? For some people–not many–it’s hot. Others, it’s not hot enough. We tried to get it right in the middle. I think we did a pretty good job. I’ve gone through the reviews. There are several that added more jalapenos. That’s okay. It’s easier to add them than take them out.
- Can you taste the cheese? Yes. We tried to balance the cheese with the heat.
- What’s this bread famous for? Undoubtedly, grilled cheese sandwiches. Â
- What else do people use it for? Well, one customer makes peanut butter and jam sandwiches with it. I haven’t quite gotten my head around that one.
- What’s your favorite use? Without question, burger buns–I like a little heat with the burger. And you can never have too much cheese.
- Will my kids like it? That, I don’t know. If all they’ll eat is mild salsa, probably not
- Is it crusty, like some of your European breads? No, it’s 100% American.
- What about the interior? It’s a soft, moist loaf, delightful. If you want firm and crusty, toast it.
- Is there a recommended use? Yep. Toast a thick slice. Stack an egg or two on top, then crispy bacon, and pour country gravy over the pile. That’s breakfast!

This has been a really fun bread mix. It’s different–cheddar cheese and jalapeno–with some kick but not too hot.
But it’s sure been a fun bread. People just light up. They’ve never expected a bread like this.Â
Even the kids love it. It’s fun to go through the reviews and see how folks use it, for everything. (I’m not sure about peanut butter and jelly on Jalapeno bread. But we sell a raspberry jalapeno jam, so okay.)
